The names in the case study below have been changed for reasons of privacy, however, the content is accurate and permission has been given for the details to be disclosed. The clients past lives change from male to female, but the feelings are expressed as the male subject describes them.

John came for past life regression because he was curious, most people come for this reason. At the initial interview we discussed John’s medical problems, fears and phobias and any compulsive habits. Some or all of them sometimes relate to a past life.

John suffered with rheumatoid arthritis and a lung disorder. He also wanted to know if someone in his present life may have been with him in a past life. He was very open minded and after explaining to him what would happen he allowed himself to relax and experience his past lives in glorious detail. Sometimes the logical mind tends to interfere and try to “work out” what is happening but when a client allows it to just happen as in John’s case then the experience is more profound.

John’s first past life experience took him back to the early 1900’s where he worked the land and lived with his aged mother. His emotions in this life were that of working all his life with nothing really to show for it. He felt angry about this.

His second past life experience took him to the mid 1800’s where he was a man who was well dressed and had a large house and three children. His wife in this particular life had died whilst giving birth to their third child. He had a housekeeper who kept the house and looked after the children and he immediately recognised this person in his present life as one of his friends. As we moved on in time in this life, the children grew up and he became very close to the housekeeper, he also recognised the children in this past life as being relations in his current life.

His third past life experience took him to the 1700’s although no specific date. In this life he experiences being a young girl of about 8 or 9 and tells me that he has one leg crippled as the right leg has been run over by a wagon. He explains that they live in one room and that they are very poor with ragged clothes, living with what he feels to be his grandmother in that life. He goes on to experience strong emotions as the grandmother drinks heavily and physically abuses him. In this life as this young girl he is regularly beaten and feels the hurt and soreness of that beating. He becomes very emotional at this point and says that he feels scared and sad but also very sore. He can feel the bruising on his little body.

As we move on in this life, the grandmother dies and he finds himself in a kind of hospital where two woman whom are sisters, have come to take him and look after him. He feels they are spinsters who look after orphaned children. He now tells me he is loved and wanted, he has no aches and pains anymore. He recognises the grandmother and the two sisters in this past life as being part of his current life.

After the session, we talked about his experiences and whether he had felt any co-incidences, the following emerged.

His second experience showed him that he had in fact had a past life experience with the person who he had felt “connected” with straight away. This life also had been a prosperous and happy life with companionship and children whom he loved. He recognised all the people in that life as being part of this current life and people who cared and loved him.

The pain he felt in his third life, when he was treated cruelly and beaten by his grandmother, is the same pain he feels with his arthritis and he recognises this is the same pain he feels. The woman whom he recognises as his grandmother is only a recent addition to his present life, approximately three years. He then makes the connection that his arthritis has gradually worsened in that time. He also explains that he has always felt uneasy around this person and that would perhaps explain why.

John felt that the experience was profound and very emotional and the fact that he recognised people and feelings in his past lives that are present in his current life gave him an understanding that we spend lifetimes together.

Every person has a different experience depending upon their circumstances and yet they all seem to report the same feeling of understanding and being uplifted by the experience.
