Mediumship

Mediumship in its oxford dictionary term is:

A person claiming to be in contact with the spirits of the dead and to communicate between the dead and the living

This is actually a good text book description. I believe it is much more than that. Mediumship brings a sense of peace to those who are bereaved and grieving. It gives hope to those needing reassurance and comfort to know our loved ones are still around, helping and guiding us in this life.

Unless it has some therapeutic value then mediumship it is just a list of evidence, but I believe it should be a meaningful communication from a “spirit” mind who knows what is happening in the your life now and still wants to be a part of it.

When we pass over to the Spirit World we don’t take our worldly goods, things that mattered when we were alive in terms of material gain have no value when we die. What we do take is our personality, the sort of character we were, all those wonderful memories and our emotions, our love. When our loved ones have passed to the Spirit World they will appear to be the same person, otherwise how would we recognise them? So it would make sense that when a deceased spirit communicates, they bring the essence of their character, the memories you had together and the love they have for you.

Mediumship is about proving the survival of the human spirit by giving evidence. Evidence is extremely important but for me it’s not only the spoken communication, taking on the characteristics and mannerisms of the communicator gives even more credibility to the evidence.

Every communication is different as each person coming to communicate is unique. The joy I find comes from feeling the communication between two spirits actually happening through me, to feel that “living” energy is just something else.

Being psychic is not quite the same as being mediumistic. They use similar skills but in different ways. I have an article on this separately explaining the differences. If you want to know more about the history and the mechanics of mediumship please have a look at the Mediumship article in the blog.
